VISUAL EDUCATION PROGRAM:

In addition to seminars and symposia, IAD develops courses that fill gaps in university programs. Courses designed by IAD that are now being taught include two online one-quarter undergraduate courses INTRODUCTION TO WORLD MYTHOLOGY for Humboldt State University, and ART OF THE UNITED STATES for California State University, Hayward. IAD also designed a graduate MUSEUM/GALLERY STUDIES CERTIFICATE PROGRAM for CSUH.

PUBLICATIONS PROGRAM:

IAD develops innovative publishing models in the form of newsletters for educators, study guides, exhibition catalogues, and books. Each new design is intended to solve a specific educational problem.

Among its most popular study guides are THE TRIBAL CULTURE OF OUR ANCESTORS, an introduction to general patterns of art and society in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, & Iron Age; and RHYTHMS & REVERBERATIONS: ETHNIC ART IN THE UNITED STATES, an overview of African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, & Native American traditions in the contemporary world.

Among its best known book titles are THE RAINBOW BOOK, 1975 & 1979, an encyclopedia of color symbolism from ancient to modern times, and GODDESSES IN ART, 1997, a global survey of sacred art from many spiritual traditions.

EXHIBITIONS PROGRAM:

IAD also lends works to exhibitions from its collection of World Art. Selected works have been exhibited in Australia, Germany, Spain, and the United States at such institutions at the Stanford University Art Museum, and the Norton Simon Museum of Art.

NOTE: The major public service projects of IAD usually are funded by grants from foundations. Private individuals who wish consulting services for commercial art projects are referred to the Art Information Center. For the Art Information Center, CLICK HERE.
