The Poison Oak operated on the Eel River between Dyerville and Eel Rock during the early construction of the Northwestern Pacific R.R. It was
wrecked on a sand bar at Sequoia.

Metropolitan Shay #1 Wreck-1912-on Slater Creek. Bldg. in back is Metropolitan Mill. fireman, engineer, brakeman died-first 2 scalded, last one crushed-where Blue Slide road is presently-P.L. bought it 1934 and numbered it #36.-used till late 1940's. Ended up at Breedens. (Fred Elliott)
